Great Falls got its name in 1955, but farm settlements existed there in the 1700’s. The Potomac River forms its border to the North and East. It is 15 miles from Washington, D.C. and 8 miles from Tysons Corner. Known as a bedroom community of Washington, D.C., due to its proximity, many prominent political figures have lived, or currently live there. A major attraction is Great Falls Park with its amazing view of the rapids and canals that George Washington was involved building. According to the US Census Bureau, the population in 2010 was 15,500.
